I have always subconsciously adored irises. I think it must stem from a trip to Monet's garden at Giverny. It is such a pity that they are in flower for no more than a fortnight.

One of the most useful plants in the garden; Iris Sibirica comes in many colours and is equally happy in dry shade or in a pond in full sun.
