Miscellany 4Whilst it is not my policy to advertise, let's hear it for Mr. Fothergills, Double Shirley poppy seed mixture. (L) Blue anemone De Caen. (C) Clematis "Etoile Violette" (R) This beautiful mullein reliably seeds everywhere and flowers for months provided it is dead-headed regularly. I have always subconsciously adored irises. I think it must stem from a trip to Monet's garden at Giverny. It is such a pity that they are in flower for no more than a fortnight. One of the most useful plants in the garden; Iris Sibirica comes in many colours and is equally happy in dry shade or in a pond in full sun.
