GUINEA PIGS 2

top

Our next two were a departure for us in the fact that they were both boys. They were 14 weeks old when we got them on the 6th of February 2005 and arrived during the coldest winter for years. As they had come from a warm garden centre, they had to be acclimatised before going to live outside. By the end of March we were beginning to wonder if they would ever be able to leave the safety of the centrally heated lounge.

These picture were taken on their first ever run out into the big wide world. They hid in the corner of the run for at least 2 hours before they plucked up enough courage to go walkabout and discover that fresh spring grass is delicious! (L) Ted. (R) Bill. Billy also seems to be partial to the taste of the dried bay leaves that regularly fall from our neighbours tree.

Billy looks for all the world like a baby otter.

Both boys absolutely adore being held. Billy, (R) in particular, will quite happily curl up and go to sleep in the crook of my arm.

Their real favourite is resting on a blanket and watching the television-  although what they find worth watching is beyond me!
