March has been a difficult month.

Heavy rain, has again, been the most memorable feature of the weather thus far. The bottom lawns and Orchard have been continuously under water now for 6 months bar 4 days.

Following the cold spell at the back end of February , I enjoyed the Spring sunshine and was able to sow the bulk of the vegetables this month, although night time temperatures had been very low and frosts were quite hard. On the first day of Spring we had 6" of snow followed by a really warm day and night when there was a huge amount of slug and snail activity in the garden in general but not much moving at all on the vegetable plot. The last week of the month saw more rain and strong winds, with seasonally mild night time temperatures.

Some of the earlier plantings have germinated and are poking through the soil, providing a tempting target for  slugs and snails, but at present, sadly, there is again,

Nothing to report.
